Hello,
As Founder of ARIV (2) I'm involved in the organization of the 2010 WORLD VITILIGO CONGRESS that will be held in Milan,Italy,2010,September 23 and 24,while September 25 will be dedicated to patients and Patient Groups representatives from all over the world in interaction with dermatologists,psychologists,endocrinologists and researchers.
The First Announcement has already been given.
The venue is Milan,Italy, San Raffaele Hospital.(1)
The Honorary Members of the 2010 World Vitiligo Congress are Professor Torello Lotti(Florence University),Professor Carlo Crosti (Milan University) and Prof.Gino Antonio Vena,(Bari dermatology Section of the Policlinico).
Professor Santo Raffaele Mercury,Head of the Dermatology Department of the San Raffaele Hospital and of the Dermatology Department od the University of the same Hospital, is the President of the Congress.
The aims of this event are to determine research priorities for this condition which has been rather neglected in terms of clinical research, exchange experiences of experts from all over the world and combine high level scientific discussions with diagnostic and therapeutic topics .

The ARIV(Associazione Italiana Ricerca e Informazione per la Vitiligine ), is a patient-driven, non-profit organization based in Italy, representing the interests of those affected by vitiligo at a national level.It combines strengths with other vitiligo organisations around the world and plays an active role in research, providing patients for studies as well as being represented at international scientific meetings .
Its aim is to improve the quality of life of patients and families, helping them to cope with the disease and its disfiguring impredictable skin changes, to increase the government's investment in research, to educate decision-makers about vitiligo and improve access to effective treatments, as well as helping researchers make real progress.
