Important update regarding the reimbursement of ruxolitinib cream (brand name Opzelura)

On June 15, the final meeting took place between Zorginstituut Nederland, Vitiligo.nl, Huid Nederland, and the Dutch Association for Dermatology and Venereology (NVDV).
On behalf of everyone with vitiligo, we have once again made it clear that vitiligo is much more than a skin condition. For many people, the disease impacts their self-confidence, social life, work, and mental health on a daily basis. That patient perspective *must* be taken into account when evaluating new treatments.
The Netherlands Health Care Institute is currently processing all the information into the final advice to the Minister. That advice is expected in August or September 2026.

No final decision has yet been made regarding the reimbursement of ruxolitinib cream.
Vitiligo.nl has dedicated itself with full conviction throughout this entire process to making the voice of patients heard. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to this in the coming period as well.
