Recently we have been receiving questions about Covid-19 vaccination in combination with the use of Protopic.

We posed the question to the pigment specialists/dermatologists at the Amsterdam UMC/SNIP, who responded as follows:

There is currently no reason to designate T-cell inhibitors such as systemic tacrolimus and cyclosporine as dangerous for contracting Covid.
So there is even less fear for the local tacrolimus (Protopic). The effectiveness of vaccination with these agents has not yet been investigated.

During previous vaccinations, these agents and Protopic never emerged as a problem, but this has never been specifically investigated.

In short, there is no reason to advise being careful with Protopic, both with regard to becoming ill and the vaccination.
