This standard work from 2015 is part of the Consultation Hour at Home series. The author is the renowned pigment specialist Dr. Wietze van der Veen, who for many years was head of the Dutch Institute for Pigment Disorders (SNIP) at the AMC in Amsterdam and currently works as a dermatologist at the Haaglanden Medical Center in The Hague. He specializes in pigment diseases and the psychological aspects of chronic skin conditions. In this new book he has described all existing knowledge about vitiligo, including the latest information, in eight easy-to-read chapters.
Candid interviews
The book also contains eleven interviews with patients. They talk candidly about their experiences and the impact of vitiligo on their personal lives. It is precisely these stories from fellow sufferers that make this book distinctive from other information books. The interviews were written by Lucy Beker, journalist and editor-in-chief of the Spotlight!, the members magazine of Vitiligo.nl. She also has vitiligo herself.
The book Living with vitiligo has over 100 pages and cost 17.95 euros. It is no longer available in stores, but you get it gift if you become a member of Vitiligo.nl for 28 euros per year.
