Vitiligo Day campaign generates a lot of press attention.

The action was well prepared by the association. At the end of May, the first press releases were sent to the editors of regional and national newspapers, door-to-door papers, regional and national radio and TV stations and magazines. Cause: World Vitiligo Day on June 25. The press release was well received, because there was a lot of media attention for vitiligo around that date.

Members were ready

Regional media are always keen to interview someone from their own region. Fortunately, many members were ready for this! The association was always able to switch very quickly to make a match between a specific regional editorial team and a suitable candidate. This turned out to be an important success factor of this campaign. Thanks to the efforts of our members, we have been able to put vitiligo in the spotlight. That's great, because more awareness of the condition will lead to more understanding for people who are confronted with white spots.

Magazines and radio

In the period around June 25, dozens of magazines published reports about vitiligo (day), often supplemented with an interview with one of our members about his or her experiences with it. Radio stations also paid attention to the skin condition. For example, chairman Paul Monteiro talked about vitiligo at Omroep Brabant on June 25, while NPO Radio 1 paid attention to it in the program that day. Speech makers.
