SNIP (AMC) July 2020

There seems to have been confusion about the position of the SNIP (Section of the Dutch Institute for Pigment Disorders), part of the VU Medical Center (AMC location) in Amsterdam.
From now on, the option has been created for general practitioners to refer vitiligo patients directly to the SNIP: general practitioners must clearly indicate this.
Since 1994, the SNIP has built up extensive expertise in the field of pigment disorders and laser dermatology and provides top referral care.
Top referral care is highly specialized care for people who have rare, difficult to diagnose or difficult to treat conditions.

General practitioners, dermatologists and other specialists can refer directly to the SNIP. For general practitioners, this can be done by referring in the healthcare domain to the Skin Medical Center location Paasheuvelweg and writing as the first sentence: “Please forward directly to the SNIP”. Dermatologists and other specialists can send a referral letter directly to the Amsterdam UMC.
