We understand the impatience and frustration about the availability of Opzelura, but in the Netherlands ruxolitinib cream (brand name Opzelura from Incyte) does not currently have reimbursement status. This means that the medicine is not included in the insured package.

The assessment of this medicine by the Dutch Healthcare Institute has currently started. During this assessment process, it is determined whether, and under what conditions, the medicine will be reimbursed. This process can take a lot of time. The NVDV (The Dutch Association for Dermatology and Venereology) recognizes the importance of good, effective treatment for this patient group. The NVDV is currently drawing up a classification for this medicine. The Dutch Healthcare Institute uses this location for its assessment.
